Rock Climbing & Kabyaw Cave in Bukidnon | iam3739 | Drey Roque
For some outdoorsy people, they limit their discipline within the boundaries of running, biking, and mountain climbing. However, some of them might feel a little bit soft. Not that I am soft, I just want to be at my craziest.
Few weeks ago, a bunch of good fellas? at San Jose, Quezon, Bukidnon ECO Tourism helped me placed a large strikethrough out from my crazy list. They ringed me just few days ago that a group of students will be trying out Rock Climbing. So I happily joined them out of curiosity.
At the moment of happening, safety precautions and lectures on basics were imparted to us. It is much needed since we all climbed alone. For a heads up, there?s a rope attached on our waist as an aid if ever we wanna feel hanging on air. There?s also a ?spotter? to try and talk you through the climbing process.
As it was my first experience, it?s hard to become ostentatiously good for the beautiful girls. My embarrassment haunts me, but thank goodness, humility kicked in as the farthest I could go was just half-way. My hands and wrists? were all but aching. So I rested a little bit; hanging from the cliff. Still after all that, I decided to go down.
A little tap on my back, the group reassured me. I think rock climbing is easy fun and challenge compared to mountain climbing. The?test is up there 90 degrees above you. Still, I have my reservations that either sport is a good stress-reliever.
Some girls really do have the guts and the power to make it to the top. And I salute them for that, even when some of them just wanted a try out. They enjoyed the activity nonetheless.
Having gone from that place. I, myself, couldn?t believe how a couch boy would turn out as rock boy. It costed me two hundred fifty pesos (PHP 250) to be exact. I enjoyed the experience very much that first time proved to be quite memorable and will surely come back for more. Hoping there will be bungee jumping next? from this bridge.
See how can joy be of great value these days?!
If anyone?s interested. Ring this great man a call, at 09068482057. His name is Jboy Sanchez of Kiokong ECO Tourism Project of San Jose, Quezon, Bukidnon. Talk to him, tell him you?re my friend and he?ll take it easy on you.
If so you are en route to either Cagayan de Oro or Davao via Bukidnon-Davao highway. Make sure to drop by at their humble post for any queries. If you have your schedule with you, send me an SMS over at my About Me page. Would like to meet fellas? who just wanna try it out along with a simple guy whose just as good half-way up. =)
On the next note.
Other side trips you can do at Quezon, Bukidnon is visiting Kabyaw Cave. One hour hike from the rock climbing site; bring lots of water and grippy shoes. You are all set. Trail difficulty is rather peanuts as long as you?re wearing the right sneakers.
Here?s a set of photos going to and from the cave.
Wishing you all the best! Live good!
