According to a new report just issued by PhRMA, the pharmaceutical company trade group believes there are currently a total of 94 drugs in clinical development by its members specifically for the treatment of some form of prostate cancer.
For those who are interested, the complete list of these products, along with information about their stage of development and the type of prostate cancer in which the products are being tested is provided starting on page 76 of the report, which is entitled ?Medicines in development: cancer.? Please note that this listing is limited to those drugs known to be being actually tested ?in man? at the time of compilation of this report and that it may include products that have already been approved (for example) for the treatment of (say) chemotherapy-naive, metastatic, castration-resistant prostate cancer but are still in clinical trials for use in patients with earlier stage of the disease.
This report does not include information about many more drugs that may be in much earlier stages of non-clinical testing (i.e., in early, pre-clinical, laboratory or animal studies).
