Registration is Now Open for Mayor?s Drills and Skills Clinics

Mayor Steve Benjamin invites all parents to register children for the 2012 Drills and Skills Clinic.

Drills and Skills will offer a week of intense instructional sessions conducted by some of the area?s best collegiate and high school coaches, all in an effort to jumpstart young minds and bodies for the upcoming school year.?

All clinics will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., August 13-17 at the following locations:? Hyatt Park (basketball ? boys, ages 6 to 9); Greenview Park (basketball - boys, ages 10 to 13); M.L. King Park (basketball ? boys, ages 14-17); Charles R. Drew Wellness Center (basketball -girls 6 to 17); Greenview Park (tennis for boys and girls, ages 6-17).

On Saturday, August 18, there will be an exciting Skills Competition showcasing what the participants have learned and a Health Fair, sponsored by Select Health. Both the Skills Competition and Health Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Greenview Park. The Health Fair is open to the public.

Registration and the Health Fair on Saturday, Aug. 18 are FREE.

All participants must register for Drills and Skills.? Registration forms are available at City of Columbia Parks and Recreation community centers, at City of Columbia Parks and Recreation?s main office (1932 Calhoun Street) and available online at www.columbiasc.net.?
