W. Tennis. Women's Tennis Drops Match To George Washington

Feb. 16, 2013

PITTSBURGH - Playing its second Atlantic 10 rival in as many days, the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team put up a strong effort, but eventually fell to George Washington, 6-1. Redshirt junior Casey Robinson picked up a win at No. 1 singles for the Hawks as they played at a neutral sight Saturday afternoon after playing Duquesne the night before.

Opening with doubles matches, the Colonials took all three flights to gain a 1-0 edge in the match.

Robinson won her second-straight match of the weekend at the first singles flight, posting a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win over Leah Pascarella. Unfortunately for SJU, George Washington proved to be too much for the Hawks as they played without freshman Kristina Eisenbrand.
