Our form of therapy is based on a Love and Logic Approach, using animal therapy, experiential education, religious education and vocational training to increase self-esteem, self-motivation, self-discipline and proper coping mechanisms to at-risk youth.

MTCYR Youth Teacher/School Master
Full Time Job Description

The Teacher/School Master is responsible for the development implementation of the Individual Learning Plan for the teenage boys enrolled at Mount Carmel Youth Ranch. The School Master will ensure and develop a healthy learning environment. The teacher must follow established guidelines, rules and regulations set by MTCYR and Department of Family Services (DFS), and be familiar with those rules and regulations.

The Teacher must possess high moral and ethical standards with a strong Christian/Catholic background. The teacher will work with the at-risk youth, monitor their activities, and maintain harmony through good examples and relationships. This allows opportunities to share MTCYR Christian philosophies with youth and find the goodness within while providing educational direction that enables academic success.

The MTCYR Teacher must be able to physically work hard and encourage boys to do the same through a good example of a solid work ethic.

MTCYR is a learning opportunity with nature, in a ranch environment, set in ?cowboy? culture and tradition. The Teacher will learn to portray the cowboy way of living through dress and appearance and traditional Western attire.

The School Master needs to be a strong person that will not be easily manipulated by the boys, yet has empathy for each boy?s situation. The Teacher will maintain a written log of daily educational activities accounting for each boy?s attitude inside and outside.

Job Requirements

All persons applying must have a valid Driver?s License.

All persons applying must be 21 years of age or older

. All persons applying must be drug, alcohol, and tobacco free

Must have a degree in the field of education

Experience in Ranch and Farm work is desired
